How to Ship Your Flowers

Step-by-Step Packing Guide

Ensure your precious blooms arrive safely at our studio by following these simple, stress-free packing steps.

Step 1: Prepare Your Flowers

Keep your flowers hydrated until the last moment. Wrap the stems in a damp paper towel and secure with a small plastic bag and rubber band to lock in moisture. without wetting the blooms.

Step 2: Cushion the Container

Choose a sturdy cardboard box. Line the bottom with a generous layer of crumpled tissue paper or packing peanuts. Avoid plastic bags as they can cause condensation and mold.

Step 3: Secure the Bouquet

Place your bouquet in the center of the box. Gently pack more tissue around the sides and top until the flowers are snug and do not shift when the box is moved.

Step 4: Ship Overnight

Timing is everything. Send your package via overnight delivery on a Monday or Tuesday to ensure we receive them before the weekend. Don't forget to include your order form!

We highly recommend using UPS or FedEx for the most reliable tracking and handling.

Days to Ship

Only mail your package on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Never ship on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to prevent your live flowers from sitting in a closed sorting facility over the weekend.

Speed

Select Next Day Air or Priority Overnight.

Labels

Write "FRAGILE" and "PERISHABLE - LIVE FLOWERS" in large bold marker on the outside of the box.

NC & Regional Ground Shipping

If you are shipping from within North Carolina or bordering areas (like parts of VA, SC, or TN), a standard UPS Ground option may arrive in 1 business day. However, you must verify the guaranteed 1-day delivery date at the counter. When in doubt, always choose overnight.

Local Drop-Off Option

If you live in the High Country, Boone, Blowing Rock, or surrounding North Carolina areas, you can skip the shipping completely! Select the Local Drop-Off option at checkout to schedule an appointment to hand-deliver your fresh flowers.

Carrier Delays

Flower Condition Upon Arrival

Glass Garden Keepsakes is not responsible for any shipping delays, lost packages, or mishandling caused by third-party mail carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS).

Flowers that arrive rotting, severely bruised, or completely brown due to shipping delays or incorrect packaging cannot be beautifully preserved. If your flowers arrive unusable, we will contact you immediately to discuss alternatives.

The Drying Process

Example: Fresh white roses vs. dried – colors naturally shift from bright white to a creamy, off-white tone.

Your flowers must be completely dried so that they do not rot in the resin. This can take several weeks.

Red and deep purple flowers will dry darker (burgundy/black).
White flowers may dry into a creamy, off-white hue.
Translucent bruising from handling may become more visible once cast in resin.
